Fotografix simple, free ,standalone photo editor with
support for many common features as well as a few advanced ones. Many people
prefer to use big, full-featured photo-editing programs like Photoshop, but for
others, those sorts of programs can be overwhelming and way too complex.
Fotografix is a basic image editor that gives users a few advanced features,
like the capability to work with layers, but that is generally geared toward
the casual user.
The program's interface is quite plain, reminding us a lot
of Microsoft Paint. Menus across the top and a toolbar down the left side give
users access to the program's features.
Users can adjust brightness, contrast, color balance, and levels. There is a handful of effects to choose from, including sharpening, blurring, and creating embossed or night vision looks, among others. Users can also add text, draw on images, and do limited image correction with a cloning tool.

The program is easy to navigate, and users with any photo
editing experience at all should be able to figure out most of its features.
